Planted into the Anjou Noir soils, flecked with the grays, blues, & browns typical of schist, the indigenous varieties chenin blanc & grolleau grow alongside gamay & cabernet franc, which migrated, respectively, from Beaujolais & Bordeaux. Clos de l’Elu produces 11 different wines, of which we currently carry four.

The former is younger with more accessible black fruit, ready to open upon release or age for five years.
