In the far northeast reaches of Italy, on undulating hills whose crests catch glimpse of the Slovenian border, the Zanusso family farms two of Friuli's best zones, practicing organics in the vineyards and natural winemaking in the cellar. Friuli is where the complex & distinctive ribolla gialla finds its home. And the I Clivi by Zanusso is one of the region's greatest, expressing notes of herbs, citrus, almond, & flowers.
In addition to the white from Friuli, we're opening the Domaine de Fontsainte rosé that we promised last week before we called a last-minute audible due to lack of inventory. And tying it all together is a Corsican red from Domaine Maestracci. Because what's more French & Italian than the island of Corsica?
