Tasting: Chemin de fer

I'm kinda jelly y'all are going to pop these bottles without me. Béton & Les Petits Fers from Division Wine Co. were two of my favorites from last year, and we got such a limited supply that I only had the chance to try them once. And the Massican wines are named after the coastal mountain range in southern Italy where the founders are from.

Béton is French for concrete and refers to the vessels in which the wine is aged. The red blend is stylized after the French bistro wines that inspired Kate Norris & Thomas Monroe to found the urban winery in Portland, OR. And Les Petits Fers is a juicy & herbal gamay that proves the Willamette Valley is an ideal domestic site for the Beaujo grape.

The Massican wines from Napa are super enticing. With mythological origins in the land of Bacchus & Falernus, the two white blends channel the Italian style of refreshing Mediterranean wines. Let me know how they are!
