Maxime Magnon is one of my all-time favorite producers. His vines are located on the steep, rocky slopes of Hautes Corbières, a sub-appellation of Corbières in Languedoc, France where the sun scorches the earth and there is virtually zero topsoil. It’s incredibly difficult terrain to farm.
The harsh conditions, in addition to Maxime’s non-interventional approach, encourage the berries to reach the ideal level of ripeness for juicy, concentrated wine. La Démarrante is a crunchy blend of carignan and cinsault. It’s wonderfully slick with herbal notes and great acidity.
In addition to La Démarrante, we're opening a pet-nat from the Veneto of Italy and a rosé from Corsica. Bases covered!
